First post on Fridays to make up my missed post.
I am consoling my ego too much (Promised to post everyday without fail but meh)
I am big on optional isolation, you know, when you personally decide to seek solitude because you value personal space and alone time than opting to mingle with people you don’t even know and proceed to make awkward conversation while dying deeply inside.
….Yeaaahhh…you get the point…
The thing is, optional isolation functions whenever I am uncomfortable. But the moment you throw me into the sea of close friends, then ghuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl, I could be the craziest gal you’ve ever met. So the great friend that I am *wink*, I’ve decided to classify my friends with who they are for me.
I might get killed after this but YOLO right? “help”
Friendships are meant to be challenged, at the expense of dying from the clutches of your friends.
1. THE NOT-REALLY-A-FRIEND ACQUAINTANCE
This person resides in your life as a means to have someone to just randomly talk to in the corridors. You know these people, they are not EXACTLY a close friend, and they have the potential to be one, but deep inside you, you know that somehow nothing will move forward.
Its like their sole function in life is to be permitted to breathe the same glorious air you breathe and nothing else.
2. THE ULTRA-CLINGY FRIEND
Now imagine this, you go to work/school feeling all sleepy and tired from waking up a little too early so you find yourself stumbling just to stand up craving for COFFEE to try to brighten your day..
….AND THIS GIRL COMES SCREAMING AT YOU RUNNING DOWN THE HALLWAY TO PUSH YOU INTO THE TIGHTEST BEAR HUG YOU’LL EVER HAVE.
3. THE ONLY-FOR-GOOD FRIEND
These are the kinds of friends you don’t actually want to call friends, why? Because they exist only whenever they need something from you, be it material or a favor they just suddenly appear in front of you. Its literally like magic. *poof* “Hey, can I borrow your notes for a while, mine got ……eaten by my dog…yeah that’s it.”
At the end of the day you succumb to her magical powers that you can’t even fathom how you even said yes to each. and. every. favor she asks of you and its really starting to piss you off.
4. THE CLOWNFRIEND
This person is close to your heart…no..is close to your funny bone to the point that you seek joyful solitude in their arms. These people are able to crack you up like no one else could for solid 5 minutes which ends with you both gasping for breath and looking at each other………
….and laughing hysterically AGAIN. These people are the ones you rely on to feel good about the day, to start the day with laughter and jokes that you could share with other people. But, these kinds of friends are also the ones who cannot
5. THE ANGEL FRIEND
This one comes in a long long….loooooooooong way. This is the person who sends you sweet texts everyday asking how your day went and how you’re doing. This is the friend who actually believes all the crap you do in life doesn’t necessarily describe who you truly are. These people are soooo kind, its like God is walking beside you.
They see good in everything you do, they try to understand who you really are. But at the end off the day, these people simply exist to stroke your ego. Whenever you have problems, you share it with them, yes. But their kindness and optimism is too much to bother that you seek deep inside sympathy because “looking at the bright side of things” is not always the answer.
6. THE BEST OF ALL
Do I even have to describe this person?
Okay, you find yourself alone in your room, lying on the bed, staring at your bare ceiling. You struggle to keep your focus on the white roof above you, to think ANYTHING but what you’re thinking right now. You struggle to keep the pain inside, you keep those little whimpers in the lowest volumes you could muster and let a couple of tears fall.
After you feel that tickling, cold tear rolling down your cheek, you muffle a sob and let a couple more fall. You struggle to keep them in. You sniff and you sniffle but you end up crying and clutching your hand over your heart to keep in the pain. You want to be completely alone…
…But you can’t, because there is this person who will break your door down with a tub of ice cream and a box on pizza in each arm. They’ll place them at your bedside table and hug you senseless while you cry. After which she’d give you the silent empathy knowing that you need your own time to open up, then you both end up watching tons of sappy movies while consuming the ice cream tub within the day.
What can I say, this person completes that hole in your life. She/He stands by your side despite your own b*tchy attitude, they treasure you completely without any hints of doubt. And we love them for it.
See you soon
